Wing Island
Developed by Hudson Soft, the same people who brought us the very first Bomberman, comes a cartoon-esque flight-sim just for the Nintendo Wii. Already released in Japan – and now being localized the west by Konami – comes Wing Island. Being the first flight-sim for the Wii, the game consists of a story mode where you play Junior, a pilot bird left in charge of the family aviation business. It’s your duty to fly around Shell Island and help those in need, using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk ...

SSX Blur
Published by EA Sports BIG and developed by EA Montreal, SSX Blur for the Nintendo Wii is the latest in the adrenaline-fueled snowboarding series. As with most games on the horizon for Wii, the main aspect everyone wants to know about is how the game utilizes the revolutionary motion sensing Wii-mote. Following on the model of Madden NFL 07 for the Wii, EA is now applying the same technique for Snowboarding.

Even though there’s still a little while left before it’s released, it’s already clear to see ...

Alien Syndrome
Classic re-hashing, prequels, sequels, and retakes have always been a safe bet for publishers to get gamers interested (or re-interested) in a franchise. In this case, Sega is refueling the fire that Alien Syndrome; a game that was a classic run-and-gun action game on past-prime consoles, which featured 2D sprites. The new game, now slated for the Wii and PSP, is a 3D action-RPG title that features tons of gameplay options, character enhancements, weapons and enemies.

This, however, is not to be confused with the recent announcement ...

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles (working title)
With the Wii's impending release, it is great to see the hype for video games and consoles soaring. Many haven't been this excited about video games since late 2001, when both the and the Gamecube came out and everyone wondered which company would win in the end, and who would produce the most stellar games. Five years later, the only clear winner is us, the gamers, who have received some of the best the industry has to offer from each of the big three – all in the ...

Mario Strikers Charged
Just how many quintessential sequels are going to be announced from Nintendo? After the hardly surprising announcement of Battalion Wars getting a Nintendo Wii effort, everybody’s favorite plumber, Mario, was revealed to press; albeit donning a different outfit than we’re used to. From platforming to playing tennis, you name it Nintendo will create it if it can star their iconic poster boy in all his Italian glory. Whereas in the last generation Mario games started slumping, and evidently showed a lack of creative drive behind them, this time ...

Rayman Raving Rabbids
Whoever thought cute, cuddly little creatures could be so mischievously dangerous? While being promoted with a lot of comical flair for multiple platforms, at its heart Rayman Raving Rabbids is a mini-game, multi-genre affair. The game will feature more than 70 different mini-games that must be completed in what appears to be a hilarious story mode. An additional trial mode can be played via single-player or with up to four-players. Ubisoft also seems to be aiming for almost every kind of gamer. As it appears the title will ...

Super Smash Bros. Brawl
When you look at the multiplayer fighting games on each of the consoles, only one will offer 4-player, simultaneous combat. And only one gives you combatants seen in other titles. Sora Ltd, by Masahiro Sakurai, the series creator, is doing a follow-up game to one of the most enamored Nintendo games ever to hit America’s shores: Super Smash Brothers Melee (SSBM). This one is called “Brawl”.

SSBM was the delight of delights when it released in 2001. The game offered the usual Nintendo goodness: great art style, ...

Wii Sports
Out of all of the Nintendo Wii titles shown at this year’s annual E3 Expo, nothing grabbed the attention of the gaming public more than the simple, yet ingenious, sports compilation entitled Sports. The small gaming package is set to bundle up four different sporting activities and allow the Wii-Mote to change the lackluster, and at times tedious, gameplay of similar titles into something fun and easy to pick up and play. While the title doesn’t exactly stand out compared to Zelda or Mario, it does have some ...

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
One of the more popular – if not the most popular – lineages that Nintendo has under its belt has got to be Zelda. A new Zelda game always has fans swooning clamoring for details about the game. Unfortunately, since the release of Wind Waker there have been no new Zelda games launched for the GameCube. Even worse is the fact that a new Zelda game has been in production for years, only to be plagued by delays which rival Halo 2's. These delays have been so time-consuming ...
