It’s not every day someone from the game industry gets recognition for their work by the general public. How about earning a spot in Time’s 2006 100 Most Influential People? That would have been unheard of until now. Shigeru Miyamoto, the videogame guru who introduced us to an Italian plumber with a deposition towards jumping on things and mushrooms has earned a spot on this list. All I can say is it’s about damn time. This man basically jumpstarted an industry that is making more money than the movie business these days. Without him there would be no Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, Halo (gasp), God of War, no videogames. Shigeru Miyamoto landed number ninety-two out of one hundred overall. The article explaining Miyamoto-san is done by Johnathan (Fatal1ty) Wendel and I have to say, John nails it. Shigeru Miyamoto is always innovating, always showing us new ways to look at the videogame industry. My hat’s off to you Miyamoto-san, thank you for all the timeless memories we’ve had exploring new worlds.
